Clos d'Alari has 7 hectares of vines planted at an altitude of 300m, most of which are trellised on clay-limestone terroir:

5 hectares AOC, 2 hectares Vin de Pays.

We aim to respect the diversity of our environment as much as possible:

No pesticides or herbicides.

Attention to the soil, grassing and, green manuring, sowing of plant cover. Our soil is alive!

We have been Organic Farming since our 2021 harvest.

Our wines

Our production:

  • 60% Rosé for 3 cuvées including 1 vin de pays and 1 gastronomic cuvée "Grand Clos".
  • 20% Red for 5 cuvées, including 3 wines without added sulfite and 2 red cuvées for ageing.
  • 20% White for 2 cuvées: Rolle and "Grand Rolle" aged in acacia barrels for 14 months.

We harvest by hand, at night, depending on ripeness checks.

In view of climatic changes, harvesting is taking place earlier and earlier.

These are spread over a month, as the different grape varieties are not all harvested at the same time.

The winery

We intervene as little as possible in the cellar, with no inputs other than the bare minimum of sulphur at bottling. No external yeasts, only those from our own grapes (indigenous yeasts).

Our production

60% Rosé, including the gastronomic cuvée "Grand Clos" in Côtes de Provence.

20% Red, with cuvées that vary from year to year, between ready-to-drink wines and wines for laying down.

20% White, including Rolle in Côtes de Provence.

Our Rosés

Grand Clos rosé 2023 AOP Côtes de Provence

The aim is to produce a rosé that is representative of the Côtes de Provence appellation, vinified with a minimum of inputs, with the greatest respect for terroir and vintage.blend of grape varieties: Cinsault, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Cabernet sauvignon, Syrah, on clay-limestone soils.

Alcohol content: 12.5°.

Elaboration

Organically grown, hand-harvested, partially de-stemmed, direct pressing, fermentation in stainless steel tanks, use of indigenous yeasts, aged in stainless steel tanks. No fining, clarifying filtration. Total SO2: 40mg/litre.

Tasting

Mango color with peach highlights. Aromas of fennel, dill and white flowers. Well-balanced on the palate, with a refreshing salinity.

Wine & food pairing

Grand Clos 2023 is a gastronomic rosé that goes well with artichokes, codfish, raw fish and truffles.

Métisse 2023 Vin de France

Métisse is the result of whole-cluster maceration of Syrah in Rolle juice.the aim is to obtain an easy-drinking wine with a good balance of acidity.the raspberry color in a transparent bottle makes you want to pour a second glass.to be drunk chilled, it's a fine free-flowing alternative to our AOP rosé.

Our white wines

Rolle blanc 2023 AOP Côtes de Provence

The only white wine produced this year, Rolle 2023 reflects the extreme climatic conditions of the summer, with very high temperatures, particularly before the harvest, and very little water. It will appeal to lovers of a Rolle produced in the region: rich and intense. Le Grand Rolle 2021 AOP Côtes de Provence

Grand Rolle is made from the Domaine's only white grape variety, Rolle, and is a gastronomic white, with a nice roundness and freshness.

Alcohol content :14%.

Elaboration  

Organically grown, hand-picked, de-stemmed grapes, direct pressing, fermentation in stainless steel vats, aged for 15 months in acacia barrels.

Tasting 

Pale yellow in color with a silvery sheen, the nose reveals aromas of yellow fruit, stone fruit with hints of citron and fresh wood, as well as hints of oil and honey, while the palate is full-bodied with beautiful bitters on the finish, bringing freshness and liveliness.

Marius

Marius Rouge 2016 AOP Côtes de Provence

Marius, my grandfather's first name.a blend of our Syrah-Cabernet Sauvignon parcel.a magnificent, typically Provencal red, it perfectly represents our terroir.clay-limestone soil.yield 40HL/hectare.

A COTE Vin de France

This year, we produced three single-varietal red micro-vintages from Merlot, Grenache and Syrah.A côté is a 100% Merlot cuvée.All our Merlots were used to produce this sunny, vegetal red wine.A côté, because these are the 2 plots closest to the bastide.Single varietal on clay-limestone soils.Yields 20HL/hectare.

Organic, hand-harvested, unstemmed grapes, semi-carbonic maceration of whole bunches in the juice, fermentation and ageing in stainless steel tanks, using indigenous yeasts. No fining, no filtration. Total SO2: 33mg/litre.

Light ruby color with purplish highlights. Lovely vegetal nose, supple on the palate, balanced by the freshness of the cob, with good length.

Versatile. Drink as an aperitif in summer, or with red or white meats all year round.

VIEUX K 2020 Vin de France

Vieux K comes from our 60-year-old Carignan gobelet grapes. It was vinified and aged in stainless steel vats, then spent a year in vats and a year in oak barrels in clay-limestone soils.

Alcohol content: 13.5%.

Elaboration

Organic conversion, hand-picked in crates, total destemming, fermentation in stainless steel vats.

Tasting

Garnet-red in color with purple highlights, the nose reveals aromas of cherry, kirch and bitter almonds, with subtle hints of balsamic. The palate is juicy, well-balanced and well-structured.

A fine rib of beef, or a vegetable Tian.

PAPY Vin de France

This year, we produced three single-varietal red micro-vintages from Merlot, Grenache and Syrah.Papy is a 100% Grenache cuvée. It's a fruity red that's very tasty. Vinification using the 1000-leaf method (whole bunches, destemmed grapes, crushed grapes). Hand destemming on wicker destemmer.25HL/hectare yields.

Alcohol content: 12.5°.

Elaboration

Organically grown, hand-picked, vinified in 1000-leaf vats, fermented in stainless-steel vats, aged in amphora, using indigenous yeasts. No fining, no filtration. Total SO2: 25mg/litre.

Tasting

Light ruby color. Crisp red berries and English candy on the nose. Fresh and tangy on the palate, with a delicate finish.

Food & wine pairing

An easy-drinking wine, it can be substituted for rosé as an aperitif and for white with fish.

INDIGENE Vin de France

Indigène is the estate's 100% Syrah cuvée.this year, we infused whole bunches in the press juice for a week to obtain a fresh wine.clay-limestone soils. Yield : 15HL/hectare

Organically grown, hand-picked, indigenous yeasts, aged and fermented in stainless steel tanks, no fining, no filtration. Total SO2: 20mg/litre.

Tasting

Indigène has a light purple color with violet highlights. The nose is spicy, with white pepper, green olives and zan. The palate is sunny but delicate, with a delicate tannic structure.

The vegetal side of Indigene is perfect for vegetarian dishes, especially mushrooms.
